Marlin is a tried and trusted floor former for use with floor tiles.
They have only two falls where most floor formers have four. This means that they are easier to tile and have no "Envelope cut" in the tiles.
An "Envelope cut" is where the tiles need to follow the falls built into the floor former. So if there are four falls or slopes, then the tiles have to be cut in relation to this. Therefore, when viewed from above it shows the cuts in the tiles like an envelope.
Because Marlin only has two falls, there is no envelope cut. This results in....Well take a look at the additional images and you will see what we mean!
One of Marlin's other benefits is that you can fit up to three traps/ wastes under the top grate if needed. So if you have a particularly high flow rate on your shower, you can simply add another waste, or even two if necessary.
Marlin is very strong , but also very light and easy to work with. It can be trimmed if needed by hand with just a normal wood saw.
It also comes complete with a Horizontal outlet waste, and with a clever grate that gives you the choice to have either a brushed Steel finish, or by simply turning it over, it will accept an inset tile. By ensuring the floor former is level on all sides, the built in gradient will reliably direct the water to the drain in an efficient manner, by way of the pre-formed gradients built in to every Marlin floor former.
